Articles confuse everyone. Here is the clean version.
A vs An
"a" before consonant sound: a book, a university (yu-). "an" before vowel sound: an apple, an hour (silent h).
The (specific)
"I saw the dog" = a known dog. "I saw a dog" = any dog.
No article (general)
"I like music." "She loves cricket." No article for general things or sports.
Common error
Wrong: "I went to the home." Right: "I went home." Home is special.
With meals
"Let's have lunch." Not "the lunch" unless specific: "The lunch was good."
